I think without the appropriate reinforcement an individual is more apt to be staying in their comfort zone. This limits the ability to advance their knowledge, skills, and overall expriences in every aspect of their life. I agree that having positive influence definitely makes a difference and provides an individual with much needed confidence and encouragement. You want to make sure that you do not lose an opportunity that allows you to stretch your mind and challenge you.
