After doing the online quiz what is your corporate culture and reading the background materials. I have discovered many different things about the company that I work for. The quiz that I took was found at www.khorus.com/blog/company-culture-quiz. The result for that was that I work for a so-so culture company. This stated that the company that I am employed with could use some improvements, but is not a toxic culture. After taking this quiz and do some of the readings for this weeks module I found that to be true. The company that I work for doesn’t keep the employees as informed as we could be. I feel that they should take more time to let us know what is going on when making changes so everyone is on the same page. There is also a bigger turnover rate than there needs to be. If all employees were held to the same standards people might have a better moral. When only holding certain people to high standards it makes the other employees start to slack to see if they can get away with it.
The quiz to me didn’t really give much information. In the reading Rao, P. (2010). Organisational culture and effectiveness. It went in to more detail about the different features of organisational culture and explained what they meant. It also, talked about the cultural concepts in the business world. I found this reading to be very helpful in determining what kind of organisational cultures I want to have in my workplace in the future. I would like to work for a company that is aggressive and team orientated and also focuses on the customer needs.
