I am Anglo American and don’t speak Spanish. My Supervisor and all 5 of my peers are Hispanic, who happen to speak and understand English but they refuse to speak it.
I most recently was written up because of my inability to communicate well with my Supervisor. I am in meetings that are held in Spanish. They have no consideration for my cultural diversity or inability to comprehend another language. I am employed with Bexar County, my job requirement specifically says, ability to read and write in English. It didn’t say anything about Spanish. Yet, I’m consistantly being singled out! What do I do?
