The cultures where inheritance is given to woman have more woman superiority in marriage practices as compared to the cultures where inheritance is not given to woman.

There are two different cultures present for marriage practices, there are few cultures which are modern and are accepting women dominance in marriage institutions but there are various old tribes such as Indian tribes which believe in marriage like anything and women are not superior to men in marriage relationship but in fact the marriage is continuous slavery for Indian woman. There are few societies where matrilineal marriage system is present, in such situations the caste and generations are run foreword on names of girls. The mothers are more important in this kind of marriage than men, (Weyer, 2000). Legendary Amazons who are lost in society now days are those who had feministic rule and marriages were institutions for woman dominance. Near Tibet there is Mosuo culture where females are more prominent in marriage decisions, they make all business decisions and ancestry is transferred to woman. Thus common gender roles of marriage are not assigned to women but men do perform such tasks which usually women are obliged to perform. In Mosuo there is no literal marriage but woman move to house of the one whom they think better partner but they never live together for a committed time period. Women are always free here. This is what called walking marriages. Moreover mother alone is responsible for care of these children who are result of walking marriages. Sometimes father play a little role in bringing up these children. Minangkabau is another place in which woman are more dominant in marriage practices,  they are not considered as the ones who feed children and look after their husbands after marriage but these woman are free and more secure and strong financially as compare to their husbands.

This place is present in West Sumarata in Indonesia, (family.jrank.org, n.a). In this culture, the husband may live what her wife in night but he has to leave for her mother’s place by 10am in order to have breakfast at her mother’s place. There are men quarters as well as woman quarters where the married men and women live. Akan and Bribri are two other important regions whereas inheritance is passed to women. Akan is present in Ghana whereas Bribri is present in Costa Rica. Women can inherit land as per culture thus they are strong entities in marriage as an institution.

But no matter its US, Pakistan, or some other region the female roles are assigned in marriage and male’s role too. Usually bride price is paid in marriages in Arizona. This is somehow different that the concept shared in Ghana and Indonesia. Much wealth is often exchanged during marriages but this is not as simple, these wealth’s are exchanged in such a way that woman are considered less important as compare to men. The men either buy them by giving some money to them or they can think that they have to feed a woman due to which woman is obliged to work in their homes. The two different cultures are present worldwide. Most of the times most culture thinks that woman are not as much equal candidate in inheritance when they are married. 80 percent marriages in US are done in front of witnesses, but only 20 percent of marriages in US are free and not corresponding to any religious ceremony. The marriage thus in US is done when there is some kind of association and love between partners but this is not the case in Indonesian and Ghana marriage, (Garrison, 2012). There people marry as business contact. The women own money and men are political leaders and how this marriage is successful as a business. The concept of sharing pains and eating honey after marriage to stay sweet always are few customs associated with US marriage ceremonies. These customs are not present worldwide.  In large dowry marriage it is preferred that children are belonging to father whereas in small dowry marriage the children are associated with women. But here is no such concept present; there are only small dowry marriages in which children are always associated with women.

Comparing these two marriages, it is not easier to render a marriage in Indonesia because rendering this marriage makes a person to spend too much money, the family of bride is not invited in the marriage ceremony in Indonesia because it acts like an angry family, (family.jrank.org, n.a).

Conclusion

Concluding, in both the cultures the role of woman is really different. In Indonesian culture the woman acts as custodian of the home whereas in US culture the men are more prominent. The women are considered as her responsibility and he has financial obligations towards her. But in Indonesia married the marriage is expensive for males and they are less stable financially as compare to their female better halves.  This is evidence through this paper that both cultures perceive the woman place in marriage differently.
