The Assignment
a) How homogeneous are social norms and value about gender in the American and South African cultures?

b) Explain if there are any significant alternatives to the dominant gender roles describe here:  In the American culture, a male should distance himself from feminism, strive for achievement, and avoid vulnerability, and emotions. In another culture such as the South African culture, all males should be very courageous, tough, emotionless, and never do roles associated with females such as cooking and cleaning (Catherine M. Cole, 2007).
