How do you write ##-1/8## as a decimal?

##-1/8 = -0.125##

Decimals can be negative or positive. In this case it will be negative.

Find an equivalent fraction with a denominator of a power of 10. In this case we will use ##1000##

##-1/8 xx 125/125 = -125/1000##

This can now be written as a decimal with 3 decimal places (because of we have thousandths.)

##-125/1000 = -0.125##

Another method is to divide: ##-1 div 8##
