Paper details:

Step 1: Select an issue relating to learning and behavior that you think is of current importance (see next page for some topic ideas). The issue may be something you learned through experience or observation. It may be something we read about and discussed in class, or something you read in an academic journal or from a popular news source. The issue can be something positive, like learning how to motivate yourself to do school work, or something negative such as developing a phobia, or an experience with taste aversion.
Step 2: Describe the issue and why it is of current importance. Please provide a detailed and objective description of the issue. Be sure to cite your sources of information about the issue in accordance with APA 6th Edition formatting.
Step 3: Select two learning theories that provide frameworks for understanding and analyzing the issue you have selected. Describe each of the theories, including its major components, and discuss how each theory relates to the issue you have selected, and how the theory provides a guide or a lens for examining the issue. Assume that you are writing for an audience that knows very little about the subject.
Step 4: Select two empirical studies from peer-reviewed, scholarly journals that have been published within the last 5 years that relate to the issue you are analyzing. Please note that an empirical study is a study that was conducted by the authors of the article. It is not a review of research. For each study, briefly summarize its purpose, hypotheses, method(s), results, and conclusions, and the relevance among the results of the study, the issue you are analyzing, and the theories that you present. Please describe the study using your own words vs. relying on quotes. Also, be sure to provide appropriate citation information that is in accordance with APA 6th Edition formatting. Start by identifying the key terms used to refer to the issue in a thesaurus or within a database such as PsycInfo.
Step 5: Offer three specific recommendations for affecting (e.g.,., promoting, changing, or resolving, preventing) the issue you have selected based upon both the research and theories you have presented. Each one of your recommendations needs to be derived and informed from the theories and research you have discussed.
