From a newspaper, news magazine or other online news source, select an article that illustrates one or more of the concepts we have studied. It is unlikely that the article will specifically identify a concept, so you’ll have to read between the lines. Look for stories about organizational challenges, such as mergers, changes in management, or changes in policies or practices. Look for stories about hiring, firing, layoffs, benefit changes, and efforts to remake organizations. You may need to imagine what is happening inside the organization and how the concepts we’ve studied might be influencing its members.
Post a summary on the discussion board of no more than 500 words in which you identify the concept the story illustrates, define it in your own words, and illustrate it by drawing on (but not repeating) the story. Provide a working link to the story at the top of your summary.
