Hamlet
Prompt: Think about Hamlet’s relationship with Ophelia. Does he love her? Does he stop loving her? Did he ever love her? What evidence can you find in the play to

support your evidence? Please be sure to make citations from the book including scene, act, and page. Structure it with an introduction, 5 paragraphs (developin your

essay and your argument) and a conclusion. A total of 7 paragraphs, 3 to 4 pages.

Choose some topic that you think is important for understanding Hamlet, explain why it is important, and make an argument for how it affects our reading, editing, and/or performing of the play.

Potential topics might include, but are not limited to:

-A theme in the play (madness, the father-son relationship, religion, suicide, etc)
-The importance of a particular character
-The performance history of the play
-The impact of a particular scene or speech

You must use in-text examples and clearly express how not only reasons but how those reasons and examples in the play change how we read it and how it affects how we view the characters. You must use 4 additional sources on the paper beside the text of hamlet itself.
