Project description
1. Pick one of the research topics. Go to the CUA Library database called CQ Researcher and browse the listed to topics. Print off the complete CQ Researcher article on the topic you choose (about 24 pages of information in all).
2. Begin reading and annotating the packet of information. You want to really get to know the topic; this is the most important step in research.
3. Bring to class on Monday your marked up CQ Researcher article so that I can record your chosen paper topic.
There are 15 possible paper topics. Choose one you find interesting (not just “easy”). Interest in the topic will keep you going through the project.

2. Genetically modified food. Is it good for us?
3. Extreme Sports. Are they too dangerous?
4. Internet Shopping. Should states require online
retailers to collect sales tax?
5. Smart Cities. Are futuristic metropolises good
investments?
6. Google’s Dominance. Is the online search engine too
powerful?
7. Impact of Internet on Thinking. Is the Internet changing the way we
think?
8. 3-D Printing. Will it revolutionize
manufacturing?
9. Worker Safety. Are government regulations working?
10. Telecommuting. Is working from home productive?
11. Coastal Building. Is over-building putting coastal regions at risk?
12. Sugar Controversies. Should government restrict sugar consumption?
13. Distracted Driving. Should driver cell-phone use and texting be banned?
14. Arts Education.
Does arts training improve social and academic skills?
15. Domestic Drones.
Are unmanned aircraft safe?
