Do a close reading of the work, making an analysis (explication) of the elements of the works, such as the characters, style, themes, symbolism, etc.
be three to five pages long, exclusive of a MLA style works cited page
include one primary and two secondary sources
have quotes and/or paraphrases from both the story and the critiques and that material has the proper MLA in-text citations
be double – spaced
have a clear title that indicates the thesis
have appropriate headings and margins
MLA works cited page should be fully cross referenced with in-text citations
