Part A- Take a tour
The United Nations is a great example of how the world is Interdependent. Go to www.un.org and tour the site. As you tour the site you need to take jot notes of key information and complete the assignment (below).

Bringing it all together
Answer the following questions based on the learning you have done in this activity.

1. Explain in your own words how the UN is an example of how the world”s countries are interdependent. Give specific examples of agencies, mandates, conferences etc. where this is clearly illustrated.
2. Identify and explain 5 ways your life is affected by UN decisions.
3. What is your opinion of the UN and can you make any predictions about the UN”s future based on what you saw on the website? Give evidence from the site to support your opinion.

Part B- Report
Generate a 2 page report about an area of the world where the UN is working to help develop the area. This report will provide information about the project(s) that are going on. This update will clearly explain the objectives of the operation, how they will meet the objectives, any pitfalls or short-comings and successes. Include at least one visual (map, diagram, or photo) that enhances your report and helps to tell the story of this area and the impact that the UN is having here.
