This assessment exercise requires students to write a short precis (a summary in one’s own words) of two readings, from the choice in the summary list. The point of this exercise is to learn to reproduce a concise but accurate account of the principal argument of an academic text. The writer should identify and reproduce the significant points made by the author (using entirely their own forms of expression) rather than exploring their own opinions.

Each reading should be summarized in minimium 500 words maximuim 700 word
