The thesis of the essay is “why do women still experience unfair treatment in the workplace in spite of government policies that address gender discrimination?” Make sure you clearly identify your “why” question and actually begin the question with the word “why.” Remember the purpose of your ‘Why” question is to help you learn more about your topic – provoke an interesting discussion about your topic.

Reminders: 7 pages. Include a cover page and bibliography (cover page and bibliography are extra and not part of the 7 pages). Make sure you support all your arguments with evidence from your sources (academic/scholarly sources). Identify all sources you use and make in-text citations whenever you use the author(s) words or paraphrase!! If you reference a video or film or YouTube content make sure you include it in your bibliography. You can include a personal experience if it supports your argument. Pay attention to grammar, spelling and watch out for repetition. Read your essay out loud – it helps with focus and flow (does it make sense to you?).
