formulate logical connections between disciplines as they relate to the Independent Interdisciplinary project.

This week’s learning objective is “formulate logical connections between disciplines as they relate to the Independent Interdisciplinary project.” The various indicators you used to self assess will allow you to help identify disciplines in which you are most suited, which will inform your project.

Over the course of this week and last, you’ve delved into some rather interesting self-assessment tools, particularly FOCUS 2, offered by our own Student Services as well as the Holland Type and Myer’s Briggs indicators. What have you discovered? Discuss the usefulness of these tools, what has been new information for you and what has been confirmed about your strengths and challenges?

How do you anticipate using some of this information moving forward in the course and post-graduation?

An additional issue to address in conjunction with your thoughts on the above depending on your approach is this:

Based in the reading you’ve done this week in your text on Interdisciplinary Research by Repko (Chapter 4 p127-137) and (Chap 5 149-159), has your view of the disciplinary perspective altered and do you anticipate having to deal with any “cognitive dissonance” based on the fields across which you anticipate your final project (and even your e-portfolio) spanning?

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
