a) Brainstorm to develop your response.
b) Create a clear outline of your essay, using the following MLA structure (1-2 pages typed)
c) Develop a clear thesis
d) Select appropriate quotations from your sources

Intro: not necessary to write out entire introduction
Thesis: give thesis sentence – needs to articulate the position your essay will take on the topic you are developing
