Required sections for the paper are listed below. Please use the APA manual for guidelines on writing this paper. The paper should be free of grammatical and spelling errors. Please use individual section headers for each of the sections described below after the title page:
A title page with date of report, your name, name of Agency Preceptor, and the name and location of the agency. You may include an abstract if you wish.
i. Literature Review: Use the Literature Review begun in PUBH 6635. Modify or update your Literature Review as necessary, incorporating any feedback received from your Instructor. This work must be scholarly, which means you must use a scholarly tone and rely on primary, peer-reviewed articles. The topic of the Literature Review must relate to your practicum. This section must contain a reference list in APA format. References belong at the end of this section, rather than in a separate area. This should include at least 10, but no more than 35 citations. (15-20 pages)
ii. Social Change: This section should include how the work you did at your practicum site is reflective of the social change mission of Walden University. You will use the application assignment from Week 2 to aid you in writing this section. (2 pages)
iii. Agency Improvements: This section is a discussion of steps your agency should take to improve something you worked on in the practicum or observed at the practicum site. For instance, if you have determined a modification that should be made to an existing program you would discuss this here. This section will be enhanced by a discussion of how these changes are a reflection of the lessons learned in the classroom setting. In other words, you should show the bridge from theory to practice. (2 pages)
Note: Do not write in first person for the scholarly sections of this Final Paper. Use a scholarly tone; however, in the Personal Reflection section you may use first person.
In grading your Final Paper, your Instructor will use the Application and Research Paper Rubric, located in the Course Info area. This rubric focuses on three categories that define and describe the important components of this assignment: 1) Content, 2) Quality of Writing, and 3) Research, Scholarship, and Professional Style. Each category contains a gradation of levels of completion or competence, with a score assigned to each level and a clear description of what criteria need to be met to attain the score at each level.
