Choose a film that relates to course content, and write a 7 page (double spaced) paper that engages with class readings. In addition, you are required to use at least 3 scholarly sources from outside class readings to analyze the film. Students are also advised to keep research notes and drafts of essay should a problem arise concerning the documentation of sources. The university maintains a strict policy on academic integrity, and this course will abide by this policy. Essays must be original work written for this course.Ask Questions
What is the the main theme/story of the film and how does it relate to class readings?
What are its assumptions?
Who is the writer and/or director? Where is the film set?
Who are the main characters?
What perspective is the film shot from?
Who is the target audience?

Taking Notes
Take notes while watching the film
Pay attention to things relating to course content
Summarize main arguments the film is making in relation to neoliberalism and gender
When taking notes, note when things happen in the film so that you can return to important scenes easily

A good review essay integrates three elements:
Summary
Analysis
Critique
Summary should be focused around a main argument, not just a collection of arguments, raised in the film that links it to course themes and readings

Consider the circumstances and context of the film.

Discuss the film’s approach to the subject (e.g. what topics are covered? From what perspective?)
