FBA/BIP

FBA/BIP

Paper details:
Part 3 is a contination of Parts1 and 2.Please follow the rubric step by step and answer all the question and steps. Part 3: Develop a Behavior Intervention Plan 1. Rationale for intervention plan (5 points) – approximately 2 paragraphs • What is the purpose of the plan? (2 points) • What are the long-term and short-term goals? (2 points) • Rationale must be centered on the needs of the individual. (1 point) 2. Diagram of competing pathways (behavior analysis) (5 points) • If there are multiple functions identified, choose one function to complete the remaining behavior plan. Include all eight components in your narrative description. 3. Intervention strategies/MO’s and setting events (5 points) – approximately 1 paragraph • What procedures will be put in place to prevent MOs for problem behavior? 4. Intervention strategies/antecedent controls (7 points) – approximately 1 -2 paragraphs • What evidence-based antecedent controls will be put in place? Explain in detail and give a rationale for the antecedent interventions. (5 points) • How do the antecedent strategies make problem behavior irrelevant? (2 points) 5. Intervention strategies/teach new skills (15 points) – approximately 3-5 paragraphs • Include step-by-step evidence-based procedure of what you will do to teach the preferred behavior (desired behavior). (5 points) • Include step-by-step evidence-based procedure of what you will do to teach the replacement behavior (alternative behavior). (5 points) • Does the replacement behavior serve the same function as the problem behavior? (3 points) • How do the new skills make problem behavior inefficient? (2 points) 6. Intervention strategies/consequence controls (10 points) – approximately 1 – 2 paragraph • Identify positive reinforcement for replacement and preferred behaviors (make appropriate behavior effective). This should be based on your preference/reinforcer assessment. What are they and how do you know that they will reinforce appropriate behavior? When will they be delivered? (5 points) • Include step-by-step extinction procedures How does the consequence interventions make problem behavior ineffective. (5 points) 7. Safety/emergency procedures (13 points) – approximately 2-3 paragraphs • Provide a clear plan (step-by-step) for what you will do when the problem behavior occurs. o Define what constitutes an emergency. (2 points) o Include step-by-step procedure that needs to be implemented during an emergency. (This needs to include staff, other children, and environmental considerations.) How will you defuse the situation? (6 points) o What are the reporting procedures and who needs to be informed? (3 points) o After an emergency how will you debrief and provide feedback to all individuals involved, including the target student (rebuild relationship)? (2 points) 8. Data collection (15 points) • Describe your plan for data collection. What behaviors will you collect data on (i.e., problem behavior, replacement behavior, preferred behavior)? Will you take different data during an emergency situation? (2 points) • What dimensions of behavior will you be measuring? (3 points) • What measurement method will you use? (3 points) • How and when will data be collected? (2 points) • Include a blank data sheet(s) as an appendix. (5 points) 9. Action plan (10 points) • Create and include in your narrative a chart that identifies who is responsible for all intervention strategies, safety/emergency procedure, on-going data collection, analysis of data collection, and timelines for completion of each task. 10. Ensuring treatment integrity (15 points) – approximately 1 paragraph (not including the handout) • Describe your procedures for training those who will implement the behavior change intervention. Be sure to specifically indicate who will be implementing the plan (e.g., parents, teachers, etc.). Your training procedures need to be appropriate for the individuals you indicated would be implementing the system. In your description include: o An overall procedure. (3 points) o A description of how you plan to monitor their accuracy and consistency in implementing the plan. (2 points) o Handouts for training target individuals. (These should be handouts you make, NOT copies of handouts that exist for a published curriculum or procedure.) Include all intervention strategies and emergency procedure training. (5 points) as an appendix • Indicate potential supports those individuals implementing the plan will need. Describe how you will meet those needs. (5 points) 11. Ensuring reliability (10 points) – approximately 1 paragraph • Describe how you will ensure your data collection is reliable (e.g., IOA) and what criteria you will set for accuracy in measurement. (5 points) • Specifically state what method of calculating IOA you will use and how it will be calculated. (5 points) 12. Professional typed BIP that will be used in the current environment (10 points) (For example – refer to the Snell 2006 reading). • Student Information • Rationale for Support • Description of problem behavior • Summary of FBA and functional hypothesis • Prevent: Antecedent controls • Teach: Replacement/Preferred behavior • Consequence controls • Ensure safety • Short-term and long-term goals • Evaluation Procedures 13. Complete document: (Pass/Lose 5 points) • Your complete document includes Part 1, 2 and 3, completed data sheets, graph(s), training handouts, and professional BIP. When you submit part 2 it belongs after part 1. Part 1 must be revised based on your facilitator’s feedback. When you submit part 3, part 2 must be revised based on your facilitator’s feedback. 14. Use APA format and proper grammar (5 points) • You should write professionally, clearly, and abide by APA format guidelines as well as use proper grammar. Review your document for typos, spelling errors, and incomplete sentences prior to submission. This is a required aspect of your paper. Poorly written papers may not be accepted Grading Procedures A total of 210 points can be earned for this assignment. Points will be assigned for accurate and complete information addressing each question and topic outlined in the activity details and summarized in the scoring grid. The use of accurate behavior analytic terminology will be evaluated.
