You must utilize specific examples from each film in your discussion. While you may mention other films from Modules 1-6 (comedy, drama/melodrama and horror) your discussion must focus on the assigned film.
Your response should be posted in the Class Discussion and be a minimum of 1,000 words (four pages double spaced, 12 point font). Be sure to include specific examples in terms of performance, story, effects, cinematography, editing, sound design, lighting, costume, adaptation (if the story is adapted from a novel and you have read it, please put your knowledge to use!) or any other elements you find helpful from the film to illustrate your points.
PURPOSE

By exploring which genre cycle each assigned film falls into, you will critically engage with these films, looking beyond the narrative and artifice of the film to actively deconstruct them to see how each genre functions in the films respective genre cycles.
Completing this assignment will challenge you to think critically about themes and elements of genre and apply them to films that you have viewed for this course.
