FINAL PAPER INSTRUCTION AND QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED
You will write and submit a Final Paper that adheres to current Turabian style and contains 12 – 14 pages. You should combine all of the principles and ideas from the course and discuss how you plan to apply them in your current or future ministry. Before writing the paper, consider these basic concepts and questions:
1. If everything rises and falls on leadership, what is your style? How have you been challenged in this area? What adjustments do you need to make in order to be more effective in the future? How will you be a model of ministry for others?
2. Do you fully understand the basic church growth principles of plowing, planting, and harvesting? How will this impact your current and future ministry? What about the “Back to Basics” principles discussed in Module 4? How do these concepts impact your approach to ministry (especially evangelism)?
3. How will you assimilate and disciple future converts as discussed in Module 5? How does this impact your current and future strategy of multiplication and mentoring? How should discipleship and evangelism work together as discussed in Modules 4 and 5?
4. Based on Module 6, what does a healthy church look like? How will this impact your current and future ministry? How will you be involved in multiplication of congregations and disciples? What about SPLASH?
5. In the area of church conflict and the need for revival, how will you deal with each? What part will prayer play in your current and future ministries?
The key to the Final Paper is the process of honest evaluation. You are encouraged to dream and stretch your current understandings to make sure you are following biblical principles and not merely maintaining religious traditions. Saturate this paper in much prayer and seek the heart of God as to your ministerial calling and how it impacts the local church. This paper should be a manifesto of sorts that describes how you see God using you to expand His kingdom.
The Final Paper is the culmination of an entire semester of self-evaluation and study. Your grade will be partially determined by your honest responses to the
above criteria. Also consult the Rubric for details on how you will be graded
