  Use third person.  Do NOT use second person “you.”


                         Use first person (“I,” “me,” or “my”) sparingly.

Instructions:
   Evaluate the book One Amazing Thing, arguing its value (or lack of value) for a specific group of citizens of the United States. That is, why the book should be read (or avoided). (One might even argue that parts of the book have value while others do not.) Do not base that evaluation on entertainment value, but on what might make the book a significant contribution to specific element of our culture. Do not retell the main points.  Resorting to general summary of the book will result in a deduction of 20 points from the essay grade.


                       


Requirements:
  Include a claim(statement of position).  Place the claim as the last


                         sentence in your introductory paragraph.



Research:      
Your paper must be at least five full pages in text (not including the Works Cited page) and must use at least five outside sources (in addition to the novel). None of your sources may be from .com websites. This assignment must be completed. Any student not turning in this assignment will earn a grade of F for the course.
