The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends getting 28 doses of 10 vaccines for kids aged 0 to six. No U.S. federal law mandate vaccination, but all 50 states require certain vaccinations for children entering public schools. Most states offer medical and religious exemptions; and some states allow philosophical exemptions.
You are a junior executive administrator, newly appointed by your hospital to oversee community outreach and education. Your first meeting consists of local government officials and parents of the children of the surrounding elementary schools. There has been a recent increase in reported cases of measles among these children. Many speculate that this is due to the growing number of parents that choose to not vaccinate their children. You listen to the opinions of the parents on both sides of the argument. After the meeting, you are asked to present your opinion to the City Council.
What are your thoughts regarding vaccinating children? Your response should be for Pro-vaccination.
