write a defense of Machiavelli as being maybe not such a bad guy. to do this you will have to analyze his motives for writing the prince, examine his ultimate goals, and discuss the criteria by which he judges all those who might seek to gain and hold political power. you will also have to explain why he might well have such a negative image- so as to able to counter it. but your secret weapon (ok not exactly secret) are the discourses.
paper should be 2,000 words long with 1″ margins and a cover-sheet containing a title, your name and the section number. they should be double-spaced in either a 10 or 12 point font.
