F) If an idea, phrase, or sentence is not yours, simply acknowledge the source. Plagiarism is penalized in any academic setting, and I do not look kindly on people who pass off someone else’s work as their own. I will not hesitate to seek your dishonorable dismissal, so I suggest you review your piece before posting.
G) Students must first post their responses before being able to view other students’ posts. An incentive merit of upto 0.25 will be given for responding to a fellow student’s post. The response must be academically informed, balanced (providing both positive comments and suggestions for what would have made for an improved post), helpful/informative for the recipient.
I CHOSE THIS TOPIC: (Reflect on this topic)
A) Would you say that women living in the Philippines are “second-class” to men simply by being female? Elaborate on why or why not? For instance, do Filipina women have it better or worse than women in other societies? Elaborate on the intersectionality of identities involved. What specific dimensions affect the treatment of women, such as class (wealthy vs. poor women), race (American women in the Philippines, vs. Chinese vs. Filipina, etc.), sexual orientation (lesbian vs. straight, etc.), place of origin (city dwellers vs. rural), religion (Catholic vs. Muslim vs. Protestant, etc), and other identity dimensions? What would be a “fair or just” way/scenario for women in societies?
