How would you ensure that resolution occurs at the appropriate depth? (Refer to Chapter 5 of the text).
Part 2(2-3 paragraphs)Reframing is incredibly important to anyone involved in conflict or its resolution, and the best way to learn reframing is to do your own reframing. Throughout your mediation practice, you will encounter themes in the reoccurring toxic communication that often flows between family, friends, and co-workers. Consider the statements listed below. For the following statements, write down what the interest(s) or underlying need(s) is/are, describe how the message in its current form is not conducive to conflict resolution. Finally, write your own reframed message.
a. I’m sick of your laziness! You never help with the housework!
b. Do you ever stop talking!? Its like you are trying to make me mad.
c. You look like a homeless person! Your hair is unwashed, your clothes are torn. It’s like you have no self respect.
d. That’s the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard! No one is going to pay you to tell you what their pets are thinking!
Part 3(3-4 pages) In one page or less, briefly describe the relevant facts of a recent conflict that has been resolved (this can be an example from your personal or professional life, or something you read about). In the remaining pages, address each of the items below.
Where all three dimensions of resolution achieved? Why or why not?
What was the true depth of the needs of the parties?
Was the resolution addressed at the appropriate depth?
