As a juvenile probation officer, you are approached by local teachers and school board administrators to deliver a presentation about concerns in juvenile delinquency, including prevention methods, diversion, and treatment programs. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the next monthly school board meeting. If possible, support your viewp01oint with local data. Important topics to discuss include the following:
•What is the purpose of diversion programs as they relate to the life course perspective?
•How effective are prevention programs and do they meet their goals?
•Introduce additional programs such as restorative justice, and then explain how they differ in tactics. Are those programs successful? Why or why not?
Include a handout as your final slide (before the references slide) that audience members could take with them highlighting the important points of your presentation. Also include recommendations for teachers and administrators to consider in developing programs to deliver to students in school.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 200 words for each slide
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate
