You will write 3 essays (double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font). Essays must be 1,200–1,500 words each.In completing each essay, research must be conducted through 2–4 academic resources (peer-reviewed commentaries, monographs, and journal articles) in addition to the Bible and The Essence of the Old Testament: A Survey textbook. Describe the teachings of Hebrew wisdom on diligence and laziness. Hebrew (Old Testament) wisdom literature is found primarily in the books of Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes, but for this assignment Proverbs and Ecclesiastes will provide the most relevant content (drawn from proverbs and sayings dealing with the subject of diligence versus laziness). The intent of this essay is to develop and articulate a synthesis of wisdom’s teachings on work ethics. Include Scripture references and quotations as appropriate, but keep the focus on the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes (and do not confuse “Hebrew wisdom literature” with the New Testament book of Hebrews).
