Discussion Question: Many historians and social commentators point out similarities between Rome in decline and the current political, social, and economic state of the United States. Identify and analyze both the similarities and differences mentioned in Cullen’s article. Do you think that we are Rome? Why or why not?
First, it is important to focus on the historical aspect of the question asked in the assigned discussion forum. Although many of the questions will ask for your opinion or for you to relate the information to a current societal problem, a large majority of your writing should focus on the historical context, analysis and supporting evidence (See example of initial post here).
