SPIRITUAL LEADERS & ENTREPRENEURS

Leadership is the set of qualities that causes people to follow. Spiritual and business leaders have the ability to inspire people to go beyond what they think they are capable of doing, making it possible for a group of people to attain a gaol that was previously thought unattainable. Leaders inspire trust, act consistently and motivate others by words and actions.

The history of humankind has witnessed a rich variety of spiritual leaders and entrepreneurs thriving in a multitude of industries and with diverse cultural backgrounds. Mother Teresa, Steve Jobs, Ghandi, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bill Gates, U2, Coco Chanel, Anita Roddick, Nelson Mandela, Lady Gaga, Che Guevara, Hitler, Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Walt Disney, Dalai Lama, Ayatollah Khomeini, Martin Luther King Jr., Pope John Paul II and St Francis of Assisi are some of the most accomplished spiritual leaders and entrepreneurs of all time, whose endeavors have inspired million of followers.

For your final assignment you will be closely analyse a spiritual leader and an entrepreneur of your choice. You will be required to read biographical material (books, essays, articles, interviews, news coverage) to cover the following elements about your spiritual leader and entrepreneur:

• Biographical summary (salient points)
• Spiritual leader and entrepreneur’ mission, vision, values and value preposition (distinctiveness)
• Personality traits
• Communication style (listening, verbal and non-verbal communication)
• Emotional intelligence (knowing one’s emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing emotions in others and handling relationships)
• Leadership style
