In 1994, author Swanick, teach that creativity and different perspectives in music teaching can guide children and young children to learn in a different manner. It can teach organization improvisation and creativity. These skills that taught in music classes are very practical in music, but it seems as practical in all classes being taught. They have been studies on creativity. (swanik 1994) It used in all types of education not only in music education. What music education has done in these studies have shown is that creative learning means learning in specific areas in brain. Teaching these studies better technical skills, more information that empower a better creativity. When being taught this way, the studies will be more experimental, more innovative and more inventive. These studies have also shown more thoughtful curiosity. (Feldman 2008).
A study was conducted in Brazil with 23 students between the ages of 7 to 9 years old. This music class was taught by Madalena and was taught for 50 minutes per week. These classes were equipped with xylophones, met allophones, tambourines, triangles, cymbals, drums, recorders, guitar and a piano. These children split up into small groups to create their own compositions to be presented to the class and then analyzed collectively. There were three strategies that were analyzed to pay attention to the senses and meanings about the creativity of songs to pay attention to how the students decided on the composition of the songs and how much student worked together on the compositions.
This study resulted in the belief that the creative learning in a group situation taught that this community of students were taught about personal and communal expressions about artistic, social, political and cultural concerns. More result showed that creative learning group activities, group presentation and group criticism in these group productions reflect a common process between musical processes and community process. In this study it shows that Madalena and his students were building their community which requires negotiation, resistance openness to other ideas and compromises.
The lessons learned by the children, in the experiment was very positive. They learned to take risks, they learned to be criticize each other better, the learned more social skills, and the skills of negotiation. The lessons learned by the teacher was to keep things to organized, keeping focused on the activities , helping with social participation and keeping positive and confident relationships with and between the students. He taught the children to be constructive critical. She taught them responsibility for themselves and for the whole classroom. Throughout this experiment both the teacher and the students were able within the group to see the capacities of all, and were able to place them in meaningful positions while encouraging growth in the abilities in all of the students. In having the small music groups, with these children learning better social skills and co-operating skills they will be better equipped to be helpful and mindful in their own communities.
