employee discipline memorandums

employee discipline memorandums
Employee Discipline
For this assignment you are to draft two employee discipline memorandums. You are the Human Resource Professional, not the employee’s direct supervisor. The memorandums can be placed in the same word document for the purposes of submission.
Case #1
Jenny Conrad Ms. Conrad has been showing up late for work. In the last month there was four days when Ms. Conrad was late by 15 minutes or more (February 3, 8, 16 and 22). Her supervisor is very happy with her work otherwise and has reservations about formally disciplining her. He has already verbally warned her about the problem (February 8 and 22). Since your firm uses an electronic time keeping system the issue was send to human resources. You have decided a written warning must go into her file. Write the warning that will be sent to the employee and copied to her supervisor and her personnel file. Since the warning will be delivered by her supervisor, please also write a short note to her supervisor with advice on how to deal with the warning.
Case #2
Sam Kellogg “Sam needs to go!” After being spoken to by his supervisor about pranking of co-workers on multiple occasions Mr. Kellogg proceeded to lean ladders all over the warehouse area creating a maze that his co-workers needed to disassemble in the morning. His pranks started not long after he was hired on January 5, 2016. In the last few weeks Mr. Kellogg has increased the scale of his pranks and now his supervisor has serious concerns that safety could be compromised in the warehouse area. Despite verbal discussions about his behaviour on January 29 and February 18 the behaviour has continued and escalated. The supervisor decided that Mr. Kellogg’s employment must be terminated when another employee was injured while disassembling the ladder maze. While the injury was not severe, the potential existed for other injuries with greater severity. Write the memorandum to document the termination of Mr. Kellogg which will be copied to his supervisor and personnel file. Grading Each case will be marked out of 5 points for a total of 10 points. In order to receive full points, the memorandums need to be effective at conveying the message to the employee, grammatically correct and easy to understand.
