Education in a Cosmopolitian society

Examine the Being Australian curriculum document and analyse the expectations of students and teachers. As you examine it ask yourself:
•What would you do with this document?
•How is ‘culture’ constructed in the document?
•What is the teacher encouraged to do?
•What kinds of messages are students meant to learn?

Then respond to these two questions using evidence from the first 4 concepts’ articles, film clips, mini-lectures to justify your argument.
Does this document encourage a ‘cosmopolitan learning’ like Rizvi has described? If so, how? If not, why not?
What kind of classroom practices do you think would encourage cosmopolitan learning?
