Paper details:The purpose of this study is to identify socio-cultural causal factors that contribute to domestic killings and how this can inform social work practice.
Objectives
1- identify key factors social work must take into consideration when working with domestic abuse perpetrators and victims
2- Examining literature to identify contemporary sociological theory the underpins domestic abuse
3- a thematic analyses of key serious case reviews to assertain underlying patterns of causal behaviour.
The following theories need to be included in the literature review: social learning theory, behavioural genetic theory, gender based theory.
Methodology- documentary analyses, thematic analyses from serious case reviews. The book bryman 2015 research methods will state how to do this. Serious case reviews can be found on NSPCC website.
