Sociology is the study of society, social relationships, and the organization of human groups. The study of sociology is extremely important in developing an understanding of self and in relation to others within the dynamic communities of college, career, and life. The main objective of this research paper is to explore an idea, summarize the idea, and analyze the main points of experts in the field. You will also demonstrate your academic integrity by properly crediting the authors and their ideas.

For this research paper, you will choose one of the topics listed below and will begin by performing research using credible sources such as your textbook and those found in our Virtual Library. You will use these sources to first develop your outline and identify which sources you will use in your research paper. While this paper is based on your research you should bring the personal ¡§I¡¨ into your essay. Feel free to share what your initial perceptions were of the issue you have chosen to research and how your perceptions changed while researching and writing this assignment.
1. Choose from one of the sociological topics listed below (due in week 4).
2. Perform research on your topic and identify resources in our Virtual Library that you feel are relevant to your research topic (due in week 5).
3. Develop an outline which includes a brief introductory paragraph, structure for how you will present the body of your paper based on your research, and then a brief conclusion due in week 5).
4. Your research paper should include the following:
a. A title page
b. A well-developed introduction identifying your topic and engaging the reader.
c. A well-developed body incorporating what you learned from your research and how this relates to you personally, professionally, and academically.
d. Appropriate citation style (in-text) and reference page according to American Psychological Association (APA). You will need to cite from at least four (4) different sources: course textbook and resources from the Virtual Library.
5. This paper is to be a minimum of three to four pages, typed, and double-spaced, not including your title page and References page. Adhere to APA rules for formatting (12-point font, one-inch margins, double-spaced) and for citing research sources (both in the text and as full citations on a references page).
