Diversity among individuals, as well as cultures, provides a challenge for nurses when it comes to delivering meaningful health promotion and illness prevention-based education. How do teaching principles, varied learning styles (for both nurses and patients), and teaching methodologies impact the approach to education? How do health care providers overcome differing points of view regarding health promotion and disease prevention? Provide an example.

Write a 3- to 4-page (not including title page and references) paper demonstrating your understanding of diversity by choosing and researching a group of people and how they are portrayed in the media. The paper should demonstrate both an understanding of the aspects of diversity as explored in the textbook/class and the impact media have on society.

The paper should follow APA style for formatting (an abstract is not required) and for how references are noted in the text and in the references page. At least 4 credible sources should be referenced beyond our textbooks. In addition, you are encouraged cite our textbooks.

Grading criteria:
Highlight key concepts: How well does the paper illustrate an understanding of the concepts of diversity and media literacy? (30 points)
Quality of the writing: How well written is the paper in terms of grammar, spelling, sentence structure, intro, clear thesis, transitions, conclusion, etc.? (25 points)
Format: How well does the paper reflect proper APA style? (20 points)
References: Are the references of a sufficient caliber for a college-level course and properly cited using APA style? (15 points)
Clarity of position: How well does the paper take a position and present evidence to support that view? (10 points)
