Order Descriptionwant you to choose ANY Impressionist painting from an artist of your choice. Let’s be creative here: don’t just grab one from the textbook—find one from the Web. Consider Manet (his work from 1870 onward), Monet, Renoir, Degas, Cassatt, Sisley, Pissarro, Caillebotte, or others. Write a THOROUGH paragraph describing this work: what moment is being captured here? What is the POV (point of view), and why do you think the artist chose this particular angle? Describe the light and atmosphere: what time of day is it? What is the weather like? What colors did the artist use to capture this moment and why? Is this an action painting or a static portrait? What mood does this painting emit? Things like that. Remember that the Impressionists emphasized the “capture the moment” concept, and their works stressed light and atmosphere. So you’re going to delve into this realm with wide open eyes.

THIS IS FROM THE BOOK Laurie Schneider Adams, “Art Across Time,” Vol II, 4th ed Adams, Ch. 22, “Nineteenth-Century Impressionism”. I DON’T HAVE THE BOOK
