1. Answers for questions in the first three bullet points (optional is not included) have to be prepared as a Power Point presentation.
You have to prepare a report for management that answers the questions from the Chapter 10 Dirt Bike Case assignment in a form of a Power Point presentation. So it has to be concise and precise. Overall, keep your Power Point short and to the point, so include no more than 10 slides.
Be creative! Include tables, charts, etc. that will make your presentation very clear for the audience.
READ and analyze Learning Tracks for Chapter 10 before answering questions.
2. The last question in the assignment ‘Design the home page for Dirt Bikes’s Web site’ is mandatory.
Instructions/requirements on the DB Web site
You have to prepare a content of the DB Web site for Internet customers. The goal is to introduce the DB company to potential customers. Designs could vary widely, although the Web site must be appropriate for greeting individuals warmly and offering adequate information and links to DB sites for information, e-commerce, and even customer service. Indicate on your home page links to other appropriate Web sites (although for this exercise you could only create one actual link while the others could be just mentioned – it is up to you).
Note: The main goal of this question is to create the content of the Dirt Bike web site that provides a nice introduction of the company to a wide audience. The professional web site would be implemented later by web programmers. See the file “HW 4 Grading Requirements & Resources” below HW 4 Questions for help.
HW4 Submission
1. Submission has to be done in the assignment submission box on the Blackboard: click on the title [HW4] on the top.
2. The following files have to be attached when you submit the homework assignment:
one .pptx file with your presentation.
name your file Frstname_LastName_DB_HW4.pptx
.mhtml or .html file(s) with your Dirt Bike’s Web Site OR a file with the link to your website.
Note: You are free to use any software for creating the web site (the tools at Google Sites, Word, etc.). If you have web design experience you are free to create the web site using tools you are familiar with. If you do not have this experience the simplest web site can be created as a Word file (.doc) and then saved as a web page file (.html).
name your file Frstname_LastName_DB_HW4.html
you might have your other .html files
Questions are given in the DB case on Chapter 10. You need to answer questions given in first 3 bullet points (optional is not included). The questions are:
How could Dirt Bikes benefit from e-commerce?
Should it sell motorcycles or parts over the Web?
Should it use its Web site primarily to advertise its products and services?
Should it use the Web for customer service?
How would a Web site provide value to Dirt Bikes?
Use the Web to research the cost of an e-commerce site for a small to medium-sized company.
How much revenue or cost savings would the Web site have to produce to make it a worthwhile investment for Dirt Bikes?
Prepare specifications describing the functions that should be performed by Dirt Bikes’s Web site.
Include links to other Web sites or other systems in your specifications.
