Write a short essay that is at least one full page (no more than one and a half page) using Microsoft Word about your digital footprint. Instructions are located under the writing requirements in this tutorial. Do not use Google Docs.

Websites that can be used to search your footprint:

Use websites such as Google, Bing, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other public technology you may use.

Select at least three of the media technologies (not just Twitter or Google)
Note: even if you are not a social media user, you may still find information elsewhere about yourself.

Boolean search: Use quotations around your name in the search bar to narrow your results.
Search example:
Google:  Type “NAME” in the search bar and maybe another search for your digital footprint. See what information appears (this is your digital footprint)

Bing: Type “NAME” in the search bar and maybe another search for your digital footprint. See what information appears (this is your digital footprint)

Twitter: Type “NAME” in the search bar  and/or Google to find information about yourself on Twitter. Example in Google: your name Twitter search.

Each paragraph should only consist of three-five well-written sentences. Avoid run-on paragraphs and sentences. The first sentence of each paragraph should be indented one-half inch.
You must use appropriate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting. No abbreviations or “text” language.

After creating the title page, write your paper based on the questions below. Remember to follow the Word instructions (tutorial) for proper formatting.

Write a brief reflection about this digital footprint investigation. Did anything surprise you?

Title the paragraph: Account Settings.
Will you change or suggest to yourself or another that the settings of social media accounts should be updated or more secure? 

Title the paragraph: Privacy and Safety Implications
What are the implications of privacy and security.  Required:Use outside reference -search for relevant content to support any opinion.

Title the paragraph: Digital Footprint Implications for a Minor.
What are the implications if this was the digital footprint of a minor? Required:Use outside reference. Search for relevant content to support any opinion.

Remember to save often. Do not submit. You will continue with formatting.
