A large portion (see “Syllabus” for grade information) will be determined by a six-page minimum (1500 words–eight page maximum), double-spaced, paper (12 point type with one inch margins) which you will submit on a self-selected topic of deviance. The term paper will detail what is known about the incidence and prevalence of a single particular type of deviant behavior. In the paper you also must employ two different deviance theories and discuss how these two theoretical perspectives can explain the occurrence of the single form of deviant behavior in question (or the reaction to the deviant behavior). Include FIVE sociological journal articles as sources, please.
