You are being interviewed for the position of Director of Student Activities. As it typically occurs during many student affairs interviews, someone asks, “Which student development theory/theorist most affects your program decisions and why?” Please respond to the question utilizing the information below.
Why did you select this theory?
Discuss the elements of the theory which are most important to you as a student affairs practitioner.
How can you put this theory into action?
Which aspects of the theory particularly apply to today’s millennial students? Why?
Situation 2:
Congratulations!! You have been offered the job. As your first task, the Dean of Students asks you to create a pre-semester training on Student Development in practice which is to be presented to your fellow student affairs practitioners. You have a three hour time frame in which to discuss any relevant topics and their implications for practice. (At least 3 topics should be covered in this time)
