Design of Reinforced Concrete Members (calculations)

Design of Reinforced Concrete Members (calculations)

The course I’m taking is Design of Reinforced Concrete Members. The book we use is Reinforced Concrete (6th ed) by James Wight and James MacGregor. We took the following chapters only: 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 11.

The project is as follows:

The shown plan is for retired engineer who wanted to construct this plan in his small farm outside the city of Doha. Your role is to help this retiree to structurally design this plan. Your design should be in accordance with the ACI-Code. Use concrete having compressive. strength of 4000 psi and reinforcing steel bars having tensile strength of 60000 psi. Ignore the design of foundation at this term project.

1. Draw the shear and bending moments along the critical loaded beam and show the maximum values.
2. Draw sections of designed reinforced concrete elements showing the reinforcement details.
