Pick something from the first Unit. Make sure it’s something, not a concept or idea. A thing.  Make sure you like the thing.  Write 1500 words minimum about the thing, who or what culture made it, its size, location, date, when known, dates of the artist, if known, a biography of the thing. Also make sure to include why it’s important. What did it mean when it was made? What does it mean now? Has it been assigned different meanings in the past or present or both? Is it in its original place, or has it been looted by invaders (armies), private dealers, neighbors, etc.  If it is not in its original place, should it go back there? (Should the Parthenon Marbles go back to Greece? And why? The history of why they left, etc). Your paper should be in Times New Roman type 12 point. You must use 2 sources aside from the textbook for your object.  Make sure you use MLA format for all quotes and citations. Due at class time ON PAPER & ONLINE!
