Cultural Geography in Twelve Pictures

BackgroundFor the most part, I like to describe our class as skating on very thin ice: the material we cover is just a thin covering of each respective topic and chapter, and moreover, we move fast like we are on skates (as not to fall through I suppose!). The purpose of this final project is to connect some of the ideas we have covered this semester with the most important concept in geography – place! In short, you will describe a place using twelve photographs to discuss the cultural geography of a place.DirectionsThere are three basic pieces to completing this project. Like the previous projects, much of this is left up to you, but these steps should help structure your final project (refer also to the example!): 1.Introduction – In order to begin, you must select a place. While this place can be somewhere out of convenience (e.g. OSU Campus, Stillwater, OKC), it may also be somewhere more personal (e.g. hometown, recent trip). Also, the scale of your place is up to you, meaning it can be relatively small, like campus, or it can be large, such as a state or even a foreign country. The first part of your project should describe this place briefly, including where it is, but also why you chose this place. Be honest! ***Remember that the place you choose you will need to take photographs (or have existing photographs)!***2.Photographs – To help describe the cultural geography of the place you have selected, you will use 12 photographs – one for each chapter discussed this semester. Each photograph will connect with at least one concept/theme/topic/term from our respective studies across cultural geography. The photographs should be clear, preferably in color, and digital in format. These should be your own photos, NOT taken from online! Doing so will be considered plagiarism. 3.Descriptions – For each photograph, you should write a clear description of how they connect to each respective chapter we covered in class. You need to write a minimum of three sentences per description. PLEASE HIGHTLIGHT YOUR CHOSEN TERM(S)! HINT: If you are having difficulty remembering some of the key concepts we covered in class, at the end of each chapter in your book there is a list of “Key Terms” that can help refresh your memory. Be creative! Some chapters will be easier than others!Project Details and FormatEach paper needs to be typed and double spaced using 12 point font (preferably in Garamond type). Please include your name, course number and section in the top right hand corner of the first page. Please include a title – simply putting Project #4 is fine. Once you have completed your project, PLEASE EXPORT YOUR DOCUMENT TO A PDF FORMATFILE (this will ensure your pictures do not move around, which can happen when uploading a Word document). Please upload your PDF document onto D2L through the drop box

please read the instruction carefully and the picture can not be from the internet
