Job Description:
X University, together with Y University, Z University in the UK and the V University in Australia, are the recipient of a research award from Qatar National Research Fund to explore waste in food distribution and consumption in Qatar, titled ‘Safeguarding Food and Environment in Qatar (SAFE-Q).

This 3-year research project combines a detailed analysis of supply and demand sides with an examination of causes of food waste occurring in distribution and consumption. After structuring the problem, this project involves collecting data through interviews and consumer waste surveys; developing simulations of food waste and assessing risks; and developing policy suggestions to prevent and reduce where possible the waste.

The SAFE-Q research project, requires another undergraduate research assistant to support LPI, Co-LPI, PIs and RA.

The student assistant will support the team members in achieving a higher quality results in completing each aim. The primary responsibilities will include:
– Conduct observations and check prices of food products during field data collection;
– Provide language support in terms of oral and written translation in Arabic;
– Assist with conducting dissemination and outreach activities in Arabic to various stakeholders;
– Undertake any required organizational project and administrative tasks.
