#1 – DUE MAY 4 -“Costumes are the Character” – The visual creation of a character on screen. Write a 3-4 page paper on a lead character’s costumes in a film (your choice). Analyze, describe and assess how the character is created, defined, developed and presented using the visual language of costume design, clothing and style. How does the casting of the specific actor/actress affect the design outcomes? Support your theories about the character’s development using specific examples from his or her costumes. Don’t forget to credit the costume designer! Discuss how the visual elements, the performances and production as a whole affected you. To support your specific points include illustrations from the film (photos) on page 4 or 5.
