ith all the corruption and politics that have been involved in the bidding process of the Olympic Games, there has always been talk of having the Olympic Games in permanent locations. Athens, Greece or somewhere near Olympia, Greece, where the Games originated, has always been discussed as a potential permanent home and makes sense from a historical and spiritual perspective. If not there then somewhere else. Of course, the Winter Olympic Games would need to be elsewhere (Greece is too hot for any winter sports).

Address the following questions in your post:

1. Do you think that having the Olympic Games in a permanent location would reduce corruption and the political influence on the Games?
2. Where would you have the Olympics (Winter and Summer) located if you believe they should be somewhere permanent (answer this question using some of the themes of Table 6.1-International Olympic Committee Candidature File Themes)?
3. Can you think of any negative consequences of having the Games in a permanent location?
