Critically evaluate the following quote;
[business has] largely sought to tame the concept [of sustainable development] to mean no more than a level of social and environmental engagement that corporations can easily accommodate – even use to burnish their brand … [This] eco-modernist paradigm comfortably appropriates aspects of the shift to sustainable development – those that concern business risk and ‘eco-efficient’ use of resources that cut business costs – deflecting demands for more radical change and subsuming into the traditional model the rhetoric of greener business as usual …”.

Option B
1)?Identify a reporting entity that represents itself as corporately socially responsible, or is understood to act corporately socially responsibly.
2)?Give a brief description of the activities of the reporting entity
3) Explain how the reporting entity is corporately socially responsible
In your answer,consider the following questions: What reporting, actions, media coverage, etc, does the entity use to portray a CSR image? What aspects of the CSR (social or environmental or both) do they emphasise and how do they report that information?
4) Critically evaluate whether, in your opinion, this company is acting in a CSR manner (maximum 900 words).
In you answer, you might consider the following questions: What motivation is driving the adoption of CSR? Are they taking social or environmental (or both) responsibility for their activity? Who do they identify as their stakeholders? Who is excluded? Are there any insights into the CSR behaviour from Millon (1993, contractarian/communitarianism) or Hines (1988, constructing reality)?
