Contracting Method and Award
When the government wants to purchase a certain product or service, it can use a variety of contracting methods. The government uses three basic contracting methods: FAR Part 13 –“ Simplified Acquisition,” FAR Part 14 –“Sealed Bidding,” and FAR Part 15 – “ Contracting by Negotiation.” For this assignment review these three (3) contract methods.

Compare and contrast the three (3) contracting methods used by the government.

Identify and justify the best use(s) for each of the three (3) contracting methods, with examples.
Speculate about what the results might be if the improper contracting method is selected.

Outline and develop a step-by-step process for choosing the proper contracting method.
