The purpose of this assignment is for you to estimate how you are spending your health care dollars and how you can be a wise health consumer. Please provide your answers to the 6 prompts below. Your response should not exceed two double-spaced typed pages.
Prepare a list of the health products and services you anticipate purchasing in a one year period. (e.g., health insurance, first aid and beauty aids, OTC and Rx drugs, doctor visits, mammograms, checkups, flu shots, vitamins, chiropractic, massage, yoga classes, etc.).
Estimate the expenditure for each product/service. If any of these products are covered under your insurance policy, please indicate only the amount you pay, i.e., the deductible and co-pays.
Estimate the yearly total cost to you for health products/services.
What percentage of your total yearly income do these expenditures represent? (If you currently do not earn an income, estimate the percentage of your cost of living that is dedicated to health products/services).
Based on the material you learned from this class and outside sources, are your health care expenditures, reasonable? Are they all necessary?
